Dr. Ovanna grew up in central New York and graduated in 1997 with an MD degree from The State University of NY Health and Science Center in Syracuse, NY. In June of 2000, she completed her pediatric residency program at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, NY, where she was a chief resident her 3rd year.

She practiced in New York and Virginia before moving to Hartsville, SC, with her husband, Dr. Solomon Budhram, and their children in November of 2005. She currently sees patients and manages The Children’s Group P.C. She enjoys spending time with her family, dogs, and riding horses.

Dr. Japitana Bunnell joined The Children’s Group PC in 2013. She was born and raised in Bahrain and attended medical school at the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. She completed her pediatric residency at Southern Illinois University, where she was chief resident.

She has grown to love our small town and when she isn’t at work, you’ll probably find her with her daughters or on the tennis courts! She loves to care for children and is excited to serve the community in Hartsville!

Casey McLeod is a Family Nurse Practitioner who joined The Children’s Group PC in 2019. She is from Chesterfield, SC, and completed her BSN from Clemson University. After her undergraduate studies, she worked as an RN in general pediatrics, the pediatric intensive care unit, and the emergency department. In 2019, she received her MSN and DNP from the Medical University of South Carolina.

She resides in McBee, SC, near the family farm with her husband, Spencer, and dog, Maddox. They are expecting their first child and will be adding a new patient to our practice in June 2021. She enjoys seeing the variety of ages in pediatrics and building relationships with families as their children grow.
